Mini Art Journal Page: WISDOM

Hey guys!

Today I created in my Mini Art Journal!!! I had so much fun with this page and it does reflect this moment of my life that I have to analyse the decisions that I make and that requires a good measure of wisdom. So, as usual I decided to put it all in my art journal! Here is the final page:

I really love this one!!! I have also recorded a YouTube video of me making this mini spread:

I didn't gesso this page and went straight into it with my craft paint. I used only two colors of Ceramcoat: Tahiti Blue and Light Foliage Green. I used a baby wipe to spread and blend them; i really like how they blend together. I used one scrip stamp and three stencils, with Archival Ink in Jet black and Modeling Paste.

The images are from The Graphics Fairy... I really love their collections of collage images and they are all royalty free and safe to use for personal and commercial use! I also glued everything with gel medium.

The quote is by Socrates and reflects pretty much what I was feeling while creating this spread... I printed out and torn and inked the edges. I also used a Stabillo All Pencil in brown and a water brush to finish my page!

KIF Tag Swap

Hey guys!!

Today I have tags!!! So, I have joined the KIF Tag swap ( and I had so much fun making them. We need to make 3 tags per person in our swap group. I have 4 partners, so I made 12 tags in total, 4 of each style.

Here is Tag #1: Butterflies

A pretty simple tag, but I really liked how it turned out! I used distress ink, water, stamp and modeling paste through a stencil. Here is the process video:

And close ups!

Tag #2 - Fly freely

This one is a little more elaborated... I used layers of paper and chipboard for the cage. I also used dictionary pages to cover the tag as my first layer. The patterned paper is by Ephemera's Vintage garden from the Wimsy and Botany Collection. The bird image is from The Fairy Graphics. For the bird cage, I used my Homemade ink sprays. Here is the process video:

And the close ups!

Tag #3 - Artful Tag

For this tag, I used the same layer paper technique from the previous tag, but this one I added 6x6 patterned paper by Prima Marketing from the Almanac Collection... This is one of my favorite collection by Prima! I also added a quote from the Tim Holtz  chit chat sticker book and a butterfly that I painted with metallic acrylic paint. Here is the process video:

And the close up!

I hope my swap partners like their tags! I will be mailing them first thing on Thursday, because tomorrow is a holiday here in Trinidad...

Mini Art Journal

Hey guys!

Today's project is a Mini Art Journal!! I love art journaling!!! I have been doing it for almost two years now... One of the first "pages" I saw on YouTube was Jenn's... She is Mixed Media Jenn on YouTube. So, she has just finished her mini art journal series and she made a flip through video. That video really inspired me to try my own mini art journal. Jenn uses a small Moleskine, but I decided to make my journal. I mainly used primed canvas for the cover and watercolor paper for the signatures. My journal's final size is 5 1/2'' x 4'' and I just loved how it turned out!!
Here is a link to Jenn's channel:

Well, I started by choosing my paper, cutting and folding it create my signatures:

And I used a piece of primed canvas sheet for the cover:

Now on to decorating the cover... I started by using craft paint for the background and adhering a napkin to the cover with matte medium. I also used stamp, gold paint, stencil and gold embossing paste. Here is a video on how I made the cover:

Here are a few close ups of the cover:

On this second part, I attach my signatures to my cover and finish it by adding a couple of accents to the front. Here is the video:

Off camera I glued the first and last pages of the journal on the cover itself, with that I made sure my ribbon doesn't get loose and added a little butterfly to the front.

The products that I used for this project:

-Primed canvas sheet
-Craft paint Ceramcoat in Flesh, Toffee Brown and Orange soda
-Decorative Napkin
-Liquitex Matte Medium
-Tim Holtz Reflection stamp set
-GOLDEN Iridescent gold acrylic paint
-a metal butterfly from my local craft shop

Hey guys!

I am trying my best to update my blog and give it a little TLC... This was a quick project for this morning and I had lots of fun making it. Even though I struggled with it a little bit, I love the final results!

For the background I used Distress Stain in Peacock Feathers and Distress Ink in Brushed Corduroy. I also used a stamp from Tim Holtz's Reflections stamp set. The images come from Ephemera's Vintage Garden Gentlemen and Scholars Printable kit and the MEMORIES sticker is from Tim Holtz's Big chat sticker book. Here are some close ups!
