Color Explosion Art journal page

First, I would like to apologize for the lack of editing :D... I was in such a hurry today...

Okay, so on to the page we go! This one was inspired by a photo I saw on Pinterest I can't seem to find again :(.

I started by priming my page with gesso and added the black tree using Liquitex Acrylic paint and for the deer I used a Donna Downey stencil. After all the black was dry, I selected almost all the colors I had in acrylics and used them with retarder to give that faded look to the painting.

I finished it with silhouette stamps for the wild flowers and tiny butterflies and dragonflies.

Thanks for passing by...

SSS Monday Challenge: No ordinary paper

Hey guys!

This art journal page is my entry for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog. This week's theme over there is "No Ordinary Paper". The design team works are awesome and so inspiring! I decided to use corrugated cardboard as my no ordinary paper!

I started my page by gluing down a large piece of Tim Holtz's Melange Tisue Wrap and cover it with Adirondack Acrylic Paint Daubers in Clove and Salt Boat Blue, I blended with a baby wipe. Once that was dry I could focus on my bird cage.

I torn some pieces of patterned cardstock, gathered some ephemera and a piece of corrugated cardboard that was lying on my work table for a very long time :D. I distressed everything by tearing up the edges and inking with Distress Ink in Walnut Stain. I cut the bird cage out of plain white cardborad using Tim Holtz's Bird cage die. I painted it with various colors of Lumiere by Jacquard and arranged everything this way.

Once that was down, I could focus on my sentiment. I new I wanted to do something related to freedom. For that, I chose the CHERISH word card from Tim Holtz's Ideology Flash cards, distressed it and stamped the word FREEDOM with my Stampedeous Alphabet Stamps.

The butterflies came from a set I bought a long time ago in the art shop. I really like how the were so I didn't change anything about them.

My bird came flying breaking out of that cage! I stamped it with clear embossing ink and embossed with black embossed powder by Ranger. I had to fussy cut it and glue it down to my page.

To finish my page, I added a few white spots using modeling paste through a stencil here and there. And that is it!

I loved how my page turned out...

I hope you guys like it!

12 Tags of 2015 - July

Hi guys!

I hope you are having an awesome week, full of art and fun! This is my interpretation for Tim's July Tag. In addition to not having that specific blueprints stamp set, I am Brazilian and live in Trinidad, in the Caribbean. Here we don't celebrate the 4th of July... All is good! I gathered some other stamps and made a London theme tag for this month. After I finished this one, I had so many other ideas for more tags... Anyways, next time...

I started by cutting a number 8 tag out of cardboard with my Tag and bookplates die. Then, I covered with a patterned cardstock. On the side, I stamped 3 images on bristol paper: the English flag and the London word stamps came from the From Paris to London stamp set; and the crown came from Mini ornates stamp set. Then, I colored them with my Copic markers. I torn each image and inked the edges; glue them in this fashion and, using a black fine liner, I made faux stitches (my sewing machine is down... again!).

To finish my tag, I added a number plate and a token written CREATE. I had so much fun with this tag!

I hope you guys like it!

A Vintage Journey - Destinations

This month I am taking my first Vintage Journey and I had a great time! For this art journal page I mainly used Tim Holtz's products... The theme for this month is Destinations!

For the background I used different colors of Ranger paint. After everything was dry, I added a few stamps from different Tim Holtz's collections. I knew I wanted to add the Compass stamp and die set, because it's a new product for me. So, to achieve these results with the compass, I stamped it a few times and die cut parts of it and then I layered those part. I used my Copic Markers to color my image.

For my sentiment I used Tim's remnant rubs, big chat and chit chat stickers. I outlined the stickers with a Stabilo black pencil and used a water brush over it. I really liked this effect. That is not a technique I use often, but I loved the results!

The globe on top of the page just brought the whole theme of Destinations together for me. It is a thinlit die and cuts this globe beautifully. I colored it with my Copic markers and inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

To finish the page, I used remnant rubs all over and stamped the mini airplane. I really had a great time creating this art journal page! I hope you guys like it!

I am linking this art journal page to this month's challenge at A Vintage Journey.

SSS Wednesday Sparkle and Shine

This week at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog the theme is Sparkle and Shine! I really love the Prima Glitter and I used them in this tag for this week's challenge. I started by cutting a piece of watercolor paper (hot pressed) on Tim Holtz's Tag and Bookplate L die. Then, for my background I used Distress Stains in different colors and Distress Inks for the edge. After that I did some stamping with various Tim Holtz's stamp sets.

I printed out an image from Pinterest, that gave me an idea for a tiny book. After I cut and inked, I chose a few sentiments from the chit chat stickers book and named my tiny book: My treasure, as you can see below.

My butterfly is make out of the Butterfly duo die from Tim Holtz. I used some glue and sprinkled some Prima Glitter from the Bloom set. And my sentiment on top of the tag was cut from a scrip words die from Tim Holtz and the THOUGHTS word is a sticker from the Big chat sticker book, also from Tim Holtz.

This is s my interpretation of the challenge over Simon says stamp Wednesday challenge blog. I hope you guys liked it... I certainly had fun making this tag!

#lovesummerart - Prove them wrong

Hey guys!

Today this huge collaboration on You Tube started and it's already awesome! If you don't know about it yet here is what to do: from July 17th to July 20th, if you type on You Tube search bar #lovesummerart you will find all the YT paper crafters, artists or anybody that make art related stuff, in one place. This way, you can see new artists and be a new subscriber if you like what you see.

Today, I was so very inspired by the video on CeeCee's channel: creationsceecee, that I created something too! CeeCee is awesome, and I have been a subscriber to her channel for about a year now and I have learned so much from her...

Here is a link to the video:

And this is what I created:

I pretty much used the same colors of acrylic paint CeeCee did and I loved the results. The drips were a great touch. She used a stencil from Donna Downey, which I don't have. So, instead of the stencil, I used the Butterfly Duo die from Tim Holtz, used Distress Stains, stamped with one of the Reflections stamps and ran my butterflies through my Big Shot Machine with the Texture fade that comes with the die. And this is what I got:

After that, I stamped my sentiment with a stamp from one of the Donna Downey sets. I thought it was fitting for today...

I hope yous liked the page and are having fun with the hashtag #lovesummerart. I certainly am!

The Journey Art journal page

This one took me forever to finish, but here it is!

For this one, I started with Distress Stains for the background, after it was dry, I used the scrip stamp from Tim Holtz Reflections collections and the splatters stencil.

I did a whole lot of stamping for this one. I used Time Travellers stamp set (Tim Holtz), and stamped them all onto watercolor paper, I colored them with various colors of Distress Inks and glued them to my page.

I also used the Gadget Gears die (Tim Holtz), cut them on Bristol paper and painted them with a metallic acrylic paint by Jacquard Lumiere (Old Brass), then I used tiny gears to embellish them!

To finish my page, I also used a number plate with brads. The sentiment came from Tim Holtz Chit chat sticker book.

I am linking this art jounal page to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog, in which the theme for this week is "Anything Goes".

Loads of fun with this one!

Journal 52 - Kindness

Hello guys,

I hope you all are involved in art of any kind today... This art journal page is for Journal 52. The theme last week was kindness, but only today I had time to post... This is how I came up with this one:

I stared by using two colors of Silks acrylic glaze, when the paint was dry, I used the scrip stamp from Tim Holtz Reflection collection, as well as the splatter stencil. For that, I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink with a blending tool. I set my journal aside for a moment to focus on my images.

I used two stamps of the Blueprint collection. I stamped them with Jet Black Archival Ink and colored with my Copic markers, inked the edges and glued them onto my page.

Then, to finalize I included some embellishments, like the buttons and the doily. My sentiment was stamped with my Stampendeous Alphabet and the little "to" came from on of Tim Holtz stickers book.

I really loved this page...

Thanks for reading!

Fly High Art journal Page

Hey guys!

I hope you guys are having a great week with plenty of art around you... This art journal page has been in my mind for quite some time, but I just didn't know how I was going to put it all together. Today I said: "Ok, let's do this! It can't be that hard..."

I started by gluing small pieces of scrap tissue paper (Melange Tissue Wrap from Tim Holtz) on my page. I opted for not using gesso this time, so I went straight to the paint. For the back ground, I used two colors of Silks Acrylic glaze. I love these paints, they have a bit of shimmer in them. I wish I had all of them! Once my paint was dry, I could focus on my vintage hot air balloons!

The hot air balloon was a free printable image from The graphics Fairy. There you can find hundred of printable images for your personal use. I edited the same image into different sizes, so when I glued in my page, it would give the impression of some of them being closer and other farther away. When everything was edited and I had the number of images I wanted, I colored them with my Copic Markers and cut the all (hard work with the small ones!); and finally inked them around the edges using Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

For the sentiment, I stamped a quote from on of Tim Holtz stamp collections onto a manila cardstock using Black Soot Distress Ink and embossed using clear embossing powder, then I glued that onto a piece of fabric also from Tim Holtz.

You can barely see on the photo, but I used a texture stamp too...

I had a great time with this one!

Thanks for passing by!

Butterfly magic Tag

Hi, guys! I am not usually a tag person, but today I decided to give it a try... I can tell you now that they can be quite addictive! It's a small surface to work on and you have opportunities to always try something new, it also takes the responsibility in case you make something you don't like, you can just star over. The journal page, you often can't remove the page if you don't like it.

For this art project, I started by cutting a tag shape out of manila cardstock and covered it with tissue paper (Melange Tissue Paper - Tim Holtz). Then, I used a bit of Distress Ink and set the tag on the side for a minute.

I knew right away I wanted to use butterflies. So, I took the Butterfly stamp from the Blueprint collection from Tim Holtz and stamped it twice with Jet Black Archival Ink. When I had both images in my Bristol paper, I colored them with my Copic markers. I cut one of them to layer on top of the other to create a 3D effect. To finish up my focus image, I inked the edges and used some rustic thread.

Then, I knew something was missing and decided to put my Big Shot machine to use. I used Distress Ink in a piece of manila cardstock, and a script stamp... Then I put my Butterfly Frenzy Decorative Strip die from Tim Holtz through the machine with the inked manila cardstock. That gave me a bunch of butterflies from different sizes and shapes... In a real test of patience, I inked every single one of them with Distress Ink and glued them all around my tag.

For some funny reason, I thought the theme of butterflies went quite nicely with this magic quote I found in the Chit chat stickers book. One last detail was the typed token with the word "wonder" on the top of the tag.

I had loads of fun with this one!

I hope you guys like it!

Journal 52 - Mysterious Flight Art journal Page

This week's topic for Journal 52 was WINGS. I was inspired by some of Tim Holtz art projects on Pinterest. I mainly used is products for the spread.  When I read that the topic was wings, I knew right away that I was going to use the wings stamp from Tim Holtz Mini Ornate Stamp set and the umbrella man form the Mini Muse Stamp set, the rest of the page just came to be as I was playing with my other products.

I used a 4x6 Index Card for the base for my focus image and had a lot of fun with my Distress Stains, washi tape, stamps and rub-ons. Here is a close up!

Here is a close up fro the mini butterflies! It was fun to make them but hard work too... They are so small! First, I punched a bunch of mini butterflies from a 6x6 Prima paper pad, then I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Stains, after that I stamped them... And finally they were ready to take flight!

I really enjoyed myself making this spread! I hope you guys liked it!

Journal 52 - Week 6: Windows

This week's spread took a little while to finish, just because I couldn't figure out what was missing. This morning, I finally found out what I wanted... It was the butterflies!

I used gesso to prep my pages. After that, I used 2 colors of Acrylics Silks, a yellow and an orange... (I cam't remember the name, gosh..), After I blended them, I used a tissue paper and tissue tapes by Tim Holtz. The window image is a stencil by Prima and I used lack gesso to create the silhouette. Printed and inked my sentiment... I just loved this free font I found online, the name is Mom's typewriter and here is the link if you want to have it too

And some instructions to install it... I needed it!

The butterflies were quite easy... they are from a stamp set by 7gypsies. After I stamped them in watercolor paper, I used my favorite watercolor (Peerless)  to color them, then I used UTEE to give this shine

That was it for this spread!
